Environmental Education

EcoMarketing Group’s Education division is focused on developing strategic frameworks that help organisations and individuals learn how Marketing concepts can be applied to expedite the achievement of Environmental Sustainability objectives.

On completion of courses participants will appreciate how Environmental Marketing differs from other Marketing sub-disciplines such as ‘Social Marketing’ and ‘Cause Related Marketing’. Importantly, the courses have been designed to equip participants with the tools to practically apply Environmental Marketing principles to a range of sustainability challenges.

Over recent years the group’s experience in this area has led to broadened academic links with universities in both Australia and Europe. Corporate workshops and academic courses are now available in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and France.

University Courses

Environmental Marketing: The role of Marketing in developing sustainable outcomes for Business, Government and the Community.

The course learning objectives and teaching method are detailed below:

Learning objectives:

  • To provide students with the opportunity to learn how to effectively apply a range of Marketing Principles to issues of global significance  - Environment Sustainability;
  • To demonstrate to students how Environmental Marketing differs from other Marketing sub-disciplines such as “Social Marketing” and “Cause Related Marketing”.
  • To address the paradigm that Marketing has a purely commercial role to play in the economy.  For example, Marketing frameworks are equally relevant to water and energy conservation;
  • To provide students with the opportunity to apply skills they have learned throughout the course by developing marketing strategies that address current and emerging environmental challenges;
  • To familiarise students with emerging areas of interest within the Marketing Community – Sustainability and the Environment.

Teaching Method:

The course combines a series of lectures that are complemented with practical case analyses and interactive class forums.  A significant portion of the assessment involves students applying a range of practical marketing concepts to a selection of global environmental challenges.  Students will be required to work in teams.
